Switching to Tally.ERP 9 from a previous Tally version is a straightforward process, with tools either integrated into the product itself or available as migration tools bundled with the software. Typically, there’s minimal need for post-migration data adjustments, and the transition can be completed swiftly, often within minutes to a few hours at most.To elaborate further, Tally.ERP 9 can effortlessly migrate data from Tally 7.2 onwards without requiring external assistance. If you’re using an older version (such as 6.3, 5.4, and so on), you may need to first migrate your data to version 7.2 before proceeding (our Sales & Support team can guide you through this). Importantly, these migration tools come at no additional cost.
In some instances, you might have customized or extended your Tally setup using TDLs (Tally Definition Language), often created by our partners. Tally.ERP 9 features a TDL conversion tool that attempts to convert such TDLs. However, please note that due to evolving product and TDL language versions, there’s a small chance that the conversion may not be entirely successful. In such cases, it’s advisable to collaborate with the original author of the customization to adapt the TDL accordingly. Therefore, when dealing with customizations, it’s recommended to conduct a simple pilot test to assess any potential impact.
